Ryan Reynolds is back as everyone's favorite masked mercenary, Deadpool, and he's taking plenty of hilarious shots at Marvel superheroes in *Deadpool & Wolverine*. If you loved the witty zingers and meta moments in the movie, you're in for a treat because there’s more to come.
The summer blockbuster is set to hit digital release on October 1, and USA TODAY is giving fans an exclusive first look at a deleted scene. As expected, Reynolds shines as the scarred and sharp-tongued Wade Wilson.
In this highly self-aware comic-book adventure, Wade has given up his superhero gig and is trying out life as a salesman. That is, until the Time Variance Authority (TVA) swoops in and captures him. Wade’s offered a chance to step up and become a true Avenger-level hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Sacred Timeline. Matthew Macfadyen’s character, Mr. Paradox, delivers the pitch in classic TVA fashion, right before he and Wade enter an elevator.
"This may come as a shock to a narcissistic, blathering bag of meat like yourself, but your universe is not the only one in existence," Paradox quips with smug confidence.
Wade, in typical fashion, fires back with a jab at MCU's multiverse films: "Oh, please. You think I haven’t seen Doctor Ant and the Quantumverse of Madness?"
Of course, he's referencing the MCU blockbusters *Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness* and *Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania*, delivering yet another of Deadpool's signature, fourth-wall-breaking jokes.
In addition to deleted scenes like this one, the digital release, along with the Blu-ray/DVD version (coming October 22), offers plenty of bonus content. Fans can expect more scenes featuring supporting characters like TVA agent B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku) and Deadpool’s good-natured buddy Peter (Rob Delaney). There’s also a gag reel, commentary by Reynolds and director Shawn Levy, a breakdown of all the cool cameos, and a special video PSA where Deadpool tries to convince Hugh Jackman to get checked for testicular cancer.
The laughs don’t stop with the movie, and the extras are sure to keep fans entertained long after the credits roll.
